Painter's Ombre: Hottest Color Trend this Spring
Tuesday, May 20, 2014
It seems to be the trend for this Spring and Summer's hottest celebrities and most stylish fashionistas, The Ombre. I am seeing it everywhere and just had to get my hands....or hair...on one.
(My very own Ombre)
I had the pleasure of getting a sneak peek of Spring's hottest haircolor trend by Master Colorist and Co-Owner of Pageboy Salon and Spa, April Rankin, with her signature Painter's Ombre. After my style session with April, I learned that a Traditional Ombre typically involves teasing of the client's hair before applying the lighter shade at the ends. April explained that she felt that this method was random and did not feel that this catered to each client's specific hair needs. She also feels that this approach is unnecessarily damaging to the hair. Being an artist, she developed a technique of layering the color as a Painter would on a canvas to create light and shadowing that would not only create an Ombre effect, but could also be strategic in enhancing certain features of each individual client with regard to facial shape, hair type, and hair texture. This customized approach to the Ombre brings a whole new dramatic effect that will create a special Painter's Ombre unique to you as an individual.
