I have been seeing all of these great confetti nails and nail art posts all over Instagram and just had to find a place where I could "get the look". After searching high and low, my friend Shaina and I came across a super cute nail salon where the nail stylist not only fixed us up with awesome nail designs, but gave us some great manicure tips as well.

Manicure and Design Tips:

1. How to Get Glitter Polish Off of Your Nails

At September Nail Salon, they use CND wraps. This cool little invention has an acetone inside of the wrap that will break down the polish without being too harsh on the nails.

If you don't have access to the CND wraps, you can use cotton soaked in an acetone that is safe for nails. Wrap the cotton around your nail, and then take aluminum foil and wrap it over the cotton to keep it in place. Let your nails soak for 5 minutes.

2. How to Create Summer Nail Art

Choose two bright, fun polishes for the base color. I chose a fun OPI coral and a metallic color.

I chose to paint my thumb and middle finger silver to add a little "flash".

Next. put a small dollop of white polish (or whatever color you choose to draw your designs with) on a tray.

September Nail Salon uses marberelizers, which are professional design tools. You can find these in any beauty supply store. If you would like to improvise, you can use a kabob skewer instead.

Use the different sized heads on the marberelizer to create different designs. We chose to design my ring finger with thick squiggly white stripes and a silver anchor.

With a thinner tipped marberelizer, you can create more detailed designs such as the ever so popular anchor. I think an initial on the ring finger is cute too.

3. Get the Ombre Confetti Nail

The ombre is hot right now for fabric dyes and hair color, but did you know you can recreate the look on your nails with confetti or glitter polish? First, choose a neutral color and a fun summer polish that is not too bright. You don;t want to take away from your ombre.

Paint every other nail the neutral color, as for the remaining nails, paint them a fun summer color. Shaina chose an OPI pastel green, Gargantuan Green Grape.

Then, on your ring finger, you are going to use the confetti polish, OPI Gaining Mole-mentum. I noticed that the nail artist dabbed the confetti on the nails, focusing more confetti on the top and getting lighter towards the base of the nail.
