It is no secret that Red Velvet Vintage on Main is my favorite vintage gem and as you all know the sudden loss of my baby brother has sent our family, especially my mother, into a spiraling, world wind of emotions. My sister and I wanted to do something fun with our mom but didn't know what activity wouldn't emphasis the sickening fact that my brother is missing from our sibling trio. Amanda Hill of Memphis Bombshells had the perfect solution to put a smile on my mother's face and Red Velvet had the perfect attire!

The one thing that my brother would have refused to be a part of even if he was still here with us, PIN-UP! It's totally a girl thing and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. First, we had to find the perfect outfit.

My mom and sis had never done pinup before and honestly, I don't think they have ever thought about it. But I assured them, pin up is for everyone!

My sweet friend Vera, vintage stylist at Red Velvet, poured us a little gin and began her retro transformation on a couple of 2015 modern gals.
It was so much fun watching my sister wear something other than her regular jeans and t-shirt. My sister is a super busy mom, former general contractor and now a student in the police academy. She rarely has time for shopping, especially 1950's threads. She made the transformation into a retro doll perfectly.

Of course, I quickly found the beautiful selection of vintage lip rouge and began playing around with all of the red hued lipsticks. You all know I am a sucker for makeup, let alone RED LIPSTICK!

Of course we did bring along one little guy who seemed quite happy watching us play. After all, he has to learn the business and what better way to learn excellent customer service than to observe Vera's outstanding, friendly service style!

Now, you will have to wait until Mother's Day to see what all we got! Check out tomorrow's Mother's Day post to see +Red Velvet Vintage's style picks and +Memphis Bombshells' mother daughter pinup experience.
