Trying to decide what to wear and where to make your last appearance of 2016 this New Years? My suggestion? End 2016 in style and enter 2017 with class at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN.

So many have come into the shops asking for sparkly bodycon dresses and sequined skirt sets, but what about a little sex appeal for the mommas and those of us who don't have a super model bod? Go vintage! Vintage faux furs and silks don't have to be form fitting to be sexy.

In order to achieve the perfect example of vintage class, I set out to find key fashion pieces to complete the look. (P.S. The complete look? Under $125)  My fur collared peplum coat? A neighborhood yard sale. She was asking $10, I gave her $20...It was stealing it at $20. I have been carefully choosing unique pieces to add to my wardrobe and this was a no-brainer.

The faux silk shift dress was from New York and Company. I love that it had a tie that I cinched the waist with. Drawing a boxy shift dress up at the waist gives an instant slimming effect.

The gold statement collar adds dollar signs to a look without really having to spend dollar signs. This piece came from The Ivory Closet for $36, as well as the studs for $10. I did not include the bracelets in the cost of the outfit because these are true vintage heirlooms, the pearl and gold bracelet was my grandmothers and the smokey topaz cuff was wire crafted from a few old vintage pieces.

The patent heels were on sale at Macy's a few years back. I love that they are an off shade of champagne pink, and of course, they are round toe. You can't do true vintage with a pointy toe pump.

To make sure my makeup and hair matched my outfit, I visited Feathers Salon and Spa for a day of relaxation. The ladies at The Peabody's Feathers Salon and Spa treated me to a wonderful facial, up-do, and makeup application.

I truly reveled in the ultimate relaxation of the spa services provided by Katie Williams and enjoyed the lively conversations with Lauren Riley as she whipped up the perfect vintage up-do and a sultry party makeup look. By the end of the day, I was off to enjoy the look and the atmosphere of The Peabody Hotel!

  7. Gorgeous outfit!! I'm still trying to decide, but I'm currently leaning towards a black silk dress that has a border of purple sequins.
