I have always been intrigued with the idea of an interior decorator but have never really known anyone who calls this profession their job until I interview Savannah Cantrell. Her work is amazing and I am super excited that she will be designing the look of my new office at the warehouse! Want to see the transformation? Stay tuned, that will post in the coming weeks. For now, I wanted to introduce her to my lovely readers in my interview series.

ME: How were you inspired to become an interior decorator?
SAVANNAH: I have always had a passion for decorating. After having my son and becoming a stay at home mom, I was constantly looking for ways to improve my own home. Once I was ready to do more, I decided to expand this interest to outside clients. I created a website, told all my friends and family what I was up to, and Cantrell Interiors was born!

ME: Were did you attend school and what is your degree in?
SAVANNAH: I attended the University of Memphis and received my bachelor’s in psychology. Although I was accepted into the graduate program, I decided to stay at a job I loved at a trading investment firm where I had worked while in school.

ME: Where do you see yourself in five years?
I’ve learned not to make too many plans. If I had made plans and stuck to them, there is no way I’d be in the situation I’m in today. I never planned on leaving my office job, and honestly, I never planned on being an interior decorator. I’m trying to be open to what comes my way and take it one day at a time.

ME: What is your favorite quote?
SAVANNAH: “I deeply believe that a beautiful décor can have a beneficial influence on our lives” – Albert Hadley
