Spring Break Road Trip
Wednesday, February 15, 2017Having my own warehouse has not only given me back more time in the day, but has also allowed me to exercise full creative freedom in completing one of my favorite tasks of running a fashion business, conducting themed photo shoots! I am VERY excited about the release of The Ivory Closet's Spring Break shoot and want to share our lookbook and a little inspiration behind the shoot with you.
If you like any of these styles, you are in look. You can CLICK HERE to view The Ivory Closet's shoppable look book. All you have to do is find the image that you like above in our look book and click on one of the + signs in the image to shop the look.
INSPIRATION
Truth be told, I had this awesome spring summer concept in my head that involved a boat and unfortunately....it is too cold to shoot our spring break look book on the water. There is almost no greenery and the nearest "pretty" lake is 2 hours away. So we pondered different ideas to represent spring break. It proved to be challenging since there isn't a beach close by or any other sunny paradise as our backdrop. After turning down every location that came to mind, we finally agreed that a road trip theme is doable and super cute! I decided T.O. Fuller State Park would be a great back drop for a retro themed road trip. We were super lucky to secure an amazing 70's style van to tie the setting together. (I have added one of these to my bucket list.) My inspiration for the clothing was a boho vintage concept. I looked for the perfect pieces from some of my favorite vendors to bring the look in my head to fruition and I used Adel Amor Cosmetics to achieve a luminous youthful glow.
Of course, I couldn't have done it all on my own. I had a team of 6 ladies who made it happen! I assigned two of our interns as Fashion Coordinator and Fashion Assistant on the shoot (Dyneesha and Tyler). They created a concept board and call sheet for the shoot, as well as, managed the looks once I styled them. Our Creative Coordinator, Jeddah, helped to capture the perfect mood and set up by instructing the models, as well as acting as our second shooter. Amberly of Eva Salon ROCKED it on hair! She did a couple of great vintage, yet modern styles to keep the looks fresh. Of course our beautiful Ivory Closet Cuties, Aviana and Isabella executed the concept perfectly! Without these fabulous models who are experts at acheiving the moods for each setting, the shoot would be a huge BUST.
I hope that you enjoyed this shoot that we worked so very hard on. I would love any feedback or suggestions for our next theme!
