Ben absolutely LOVES American Pickers so on December 23rd, we took a trip to Nashville to do a little exploring and to enjoy a little mommy/daddy getaway.

We stayed at the Sheraton Inn downtown and I must say, we definitely will revisit this hotel. It was very mod and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The swanky bar downstairs was the perfect place for a little night cap together before retiring to the room. Our suite overlooked downtown Nashville and in the mornings I would enjoy a cup of coffee as the dawn of the morning broke Nashville's slumber and the city would come alive.

After enjoying our morning coffee and breakfast, we made our much anticipated first stop, the infamous shop to American Pickers, Antique Archeology. Because this is Ben's favorite show, we watch it together while laying in bed. When we visited their shop in Nashville, we had so much fun recalling certain episodes and seeing the actual pieces that were picked from the show.

The old warehouse that Antique Archeology is in is so cool! You can definitely spend a half day there as there are tons of little shops to visit. One of my favorite little snack shacks was The Bang Candy Company. This is another famous shop in the neighborhood.

The Bang Candy Company hand makes tons of little delicious desserts but they are known for their gourmet marshmallows.  After speaking with the owner, Sarah I learned that Trisha Yearwood worked a day in her shop for a show as well as several other celeb visitors. I also reminisced about my time in Ireland as it turns out, she is an Irish native! She is so stinkin' adorable!

After enjoying some fluffy goodness and a delish latte from The Bang Candy Company, we headed downtown to the Nashville strip, Broadway. It reminded me of an old 50's Christmas town as it was decorated so vintage like.

There was no shortage of live music! We stumbled upon The Stage bar and enjoyed a great local band who's guest female singer also sings with Reba McIntyre! After enjoying snacks, libations, and great company, we retired to the hotel for a nap and then hit the streets again to see Garth Brook's closing show to his 3 year long tour.

Nashville is the PERFECT and very easy get away for a tired mom and dad who need a little easy entertaining. We got home from our trip rejuvenated and ready to tackle Christmas Eve and Christmas. All parents need a little connect time. If you are a parent, you know what I mean. I highly suggest Nashville for your next His & Her Weekend Getaway.
